The Glock was able to appeal to those who wanted big rounds in a pistol and were fed up with only 6 or 7 rounds in a magazine. That brings us to the gun we're looking at for this review, the Glock 21.
Glock introduced the G21 SF (Short Frame) in 2007 to compete for a DOD contract. The contract has not yet appeared, but the shooting gained momentum among law enforcement and the public due to its peculiarities. Based on the 3rd Gen Glock 21, the company has made only a few changes for this variant. For this Glock 21 review, we removed and used the Glock 21 SF.

The most obvious of the changes seen on the Glock 21 SF (as the name suggests) is a smaller scope. The shorter bezel, not to be confused with the wider bezel, provides a deeper bezel than the 3rd Gen version of the Glock 21. This shorter frame depth allows those with smaller hands to have a convenient handling and usable space. In the new generation (Gen 4), the Glock 21 has the same grip length as the G21 SF.

As already mentioned, in one of the "big boy" calibers of the Glock 21 SF - .45 ACP. Most shooters know the 45 ACP as a standard caliber, and many self-defense enthusiasts still rely on the gas today.
Glock blends tradition and flair with the Glock 21 SF. The 13+1 capacity is offered by the Glock 21 SF – a number that seems reasonable given the frame size.
Another unique aspect of the Glock 21 SF is the inclusion of an ambidextrous magazine release. While this part is easy, I felt that the study was not enough. I will cover this in more detail in the review. A few select Glock 21 SF frames are built with a Picatinny rail for mounting accessories - there isn't much there and the fit is good, which is something to worry about.
Most of the Glock 21 SF modifications available today are from police departments that have retired from active duty use. These deals can be found in some places for as little as $350-$400 - undoubtedly a lot.

When I first got hold of the G21, I immediately felt at home and in my hands. I know not everyone likes or dislikes the Glock "experience" but as someone who owns Glocks and fires them I felt comfortable. Some might even argue that the Glock is an "acquired" taste - even if you like the ergonomics of the Glock, the 21 SF will be for you.
Although designed to be used by people with different hand sizes, the frame still feels strong. I shoot a lot with the Glock 17 and this frame gives more grip than the 17. I'll touch on that later when I talk about the working side of things.
My expectations for how this gun would handle recoil and running in general were wrong. Based on the caliber, I was expecting some trouble with these follow-up shots. However, I was pleasantly surprised. This gun handled very well in my experience. The gun passed any type of bullet I loaded without issue. I was very impressed with the withdrawal management.
While the frame is good, I wished it had more color. The G21 SF became sensitive, especially after shooting for a while or being exposed to sweat. Skiing at 21 SF felt like there were no front markers and they always looked hard to grasp. Some frame punctuation and slider notch work would be a nice aftermarket addition.

Shooting with the G21 SF felt very comfortable in my hands – my confidence grew as I realized fast and accurate follow-up shots were possible. I ran a few examples using about 15 yards of C-zone steel plate while moving forwards and backwards. The consistent and controlled attacks I experienced with the Glock 21 made this gun a pleasure to shoot.
Glocks are hardly known for their beautiful factory sights or triggers. They often do the work that is not surprising. My experience with the G21 SF has been in line with every other Glock I've fired at this point.
White "U" shaped rear and front markings are found here on the G21 SF. I was able to find these views good enough to be confident, but again, I've used these views before. If you buy one of these G21 SFs (usually a police swap), be prepared to swap them for light use. I know it comes down to personal preference, but the fiber optic front and black back seem to work for me.
My G21 SF trigger test showed the average trigger weight to be about 5.5 pounds using the Lyman trigger scale, which is typical for a Glock trigger. I know many are very against these practices. I have enough Glock pistols not to mess around at this point.

This particular trigger felt much smoother than a standard Glock trigger. Maybe it's because of her age and "break-in" age. Regardless, I appreciated the slow pace and the relaxing break. No real complaints from me here.
For the most part, the shot is simple and straightforward. also a Glock. I still noticed a few things about the app that were very frustrating - the versatile media player is the first. I feel like Glock has adapted the work here to meet the DOD contractor's needs.
The magazine design gave it a smaller footprint than your typical Glock magazine. To get this version I broke the grip and flipped the frame. My hands are normal size. I was a little surprised at how hard I struggled to find the right direction to make the magazine changes.
Skiing seemed to bother me. While the design looked similar to a standard version of the Glock, it didn't seem to work the same way. A specific and precise weight was required to activate the slider. I've ended up manually pulling the slide on most of my guns.
